One dead in Malibu motorcycle vs. car accident
One person was killed in a car and motorcycle collision on Saturday, May 14 outside of Los Angeles. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at 4:19 p.m. on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, just north of Mulholland Highway and near Leo Carrillo State Park.
Despite the swift actions of the L.A. County officers and paramedics, the motorcyclist, 28-year-old Timothy Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. However, emergency personnel has yet to determine the cause of death.

Following the deadly collision, authorities decided to temporarily restrict all lanes of the PCH for about two hours. The high speeds that many people drive on the single lane PCH, create the potential for dangerous and deadly accidents, as shown above. Residents and commuters in the neighborhood were issued a SigAlert by Malibu Public Safety.
